I am both an artist and Art Educator. After a high school teaching career of 32 years both as a visual arts teacher and department head, mainly at Michael Power St. Joseph High School in Toronto, I retired in 2004.Since then I have been painting extensively, mainly in oils.

My work is about the beauty I see around me. Whether I am painting a landscape or the human form, I am always looking for that elusive quality of light which renders dynamic forms. I love colour and I love how colour is changed by light and shadow. I get excited when I look at a magnificent cloud formation, at the beautiful shadows made by trees on snow, at the individual beauty of each person’s face and form. Painting for me is truly an act of joy, and realism is the style I choose to express this joy..

I have been involved in many group shows and studio tours over the past years, including The Scarborough Arts Guild outdoor art show, The Queen West Art Crawl, The Markham Outdoor Art Show, The Bayview Art Tour, The North York Visual Arts Tour and the North Toronto Group of Artists Studio Tour and Sale, Art at the Fairlawn Neighbourhood Centre , and Art at the Shops of DonMills. In 2007 I had a solo show at the Uof T Faculty club and in 2009 through Artify, had a solo show at Dukem Rstaurant.

Currently I will be in The NYVA Art Show and Tour Sept. 25& 26, Oct.1 & 2; The NTGA Group Show at Starbucks, Brookdale and Yonge, Oct.1-31, A Solo Show at the same Starbucks, Nov. 1-30, The NTGA Show at Blessed Sacrament Church Nov. 5 & 6, and in the Lawrence BIA Art Walk Oct. 16- Nov. 4 showing my work in Ardith One on Yonge Street
